80年代にGeoff Serleを中心に結成されMaterialやSwansのサポートも受けたブリティッシュ・エレクトロ・ファンク、インダストリアル・ジャズバンドを起源にジャズ、実験音楽、ダンスをまたぎ活動するResearchが2012年にPARER RecordingsからリリースしたDay By DayのPsychemagik InstrumentalとThe Spigelsound Remixで12インチリリース。

Research is the punk/funk/disco project of drummer Geoff Serle (Radius, Tek-San, Sonicphonics). Research have previously had releases on the German Dossier Label, Rong/DFA, Bearfunk and Paper Recordings.
The two tracks here are extra mixes from the Paper release of 2012 which featured the vocals of Valerie Maxfield (Groove Armada).
This is the first time these mixes have been available on vinyl.
The Psychemagik Instrumental is a nu-disco banger featuring a hypnotic synth bass line alongside some spiky guitar and an 80's linndrum groove.
The Spigelsound Remix is a more deep house affair complete with vocal interpretations and elements from the original mix alongside some spacey Fender Rhodes and nice glitchy claps.

２０１２年に(Groove Armada)のValerie Maxfieldをヴォーカルにフィーチャリングしてリリースした「Day By Day」。A-SIDEは、Psychemagikによるリミックスのインスト・バージョン。パンクファンクなグルーヴと、鮮やかなシンセサイザーのドープ・ディスコ・ファンク。B-SIDEは、シンセベースと小気味良いグルーブ、チョップしたヴォーカルのレイヤーとスペイシーなフェンダーローズ。こちらもいい曲。 (サイトウ)
