Young Melbourne multi-instrumentalist and producer Liam de Bruin returns with another taste of his forthcoming Heard and Felt vinyl EP 'Thinking About Dancing'. Catching early love from his local peers and influences like Close Counters, Horatio Luna, Teymori and Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange, Liam has managed to quickly build a worldwide following with tastemakers including Art of Tones, Lay-Far, Andrew Jervis/Bandcamp Weekly, Music is My Sanctuary, Anthony Valadez/Novena Carmel (KCRW), Apparel Music, La Mamie's/Trax Mag, NTS, Tru Thoughts, Rob da Bank, Jazzanova, Darker Than Wax and Gilles Peterson, who included Liam in his best of 2021 (so far) BBC show in July. He has also held down spots in Apple Music's 'New Latitudes' and 'Club Jazz' playlists for months, seemingly propelled by a flood of Shazams every time he gets played on the radio.
Once again all drums, percussion, bass and keyboards are played live by Liam himself in the Frankston beachside studio which has been his treasured retreat during Melbourne's extended lockdowns. He shows two different but related sides to his warm organic house and disco funk sound here. 'Lavender' embraces more synth tones, with a slinky, sexy, late night feel, while 'Friday Evening' sees Liam get on the guitar too, taking things in more of a Brit Funk direction.
