In Yoruba, “Bá,” means to encounter, to meet, to come together. It is in this meeting of different cultures and traditions between Brazil, Africa and Cuba that Léo Leobons’ work joins Afro-Brazilian and Afro-Cuban traditions with modern contemporary pop music. Léo Leobons shows why he is the greatest authority on Afro-Cuban folklore in Brazil and how he has contributed to the formation of an entire generation of percussionists in Rio de Janeiro.
