If we had to put it into words: cosmic rain pouring down on parched earth!!!
At first it seems to evoke the sound around staalplaat, a personal favorite of mine — but as you keep listening, no no, this is far more intense, vividly colorful, dry, and even more cosmic psychedelia!! You can even sense a bit of the LA air in it. Tastefully done collage and beats tangle with synth tones that scramble your brain, painting a singular space. And what a decidedly un-Japanese sensibility (this is a Japanese artist, mind you). That feeling of not being swayed by anything at all is pretty wonderful. Since JOJO Hiroshige's name is credited in the SPECIAL THANKS, I braced myself accordingly before listening — and in a sense, it still blew me away.
