A reissue supervised and annotated by SHHHHH! Wonderful artists from Uruguay — a historic masterpiece by Ruben Rada and Eduardo Mateo!

A 1986 session between Ruben Rada, heir to candombe, the traditional Uruguayan music brought over by black slaves, and his close comrade Eduardo Mateo, the singer-songwriter who drew attention through the rediscovery of South American music and who played alongside him in the legendary band EL KINTO, often called the Beatles of Uruguay. Opening with Rada's classic "Botija De Mi Pais," the album is a session built on Mateo's guitar, Rada's percussion, and the two men's highly distinctive singing and vocal performances. Osvaldo of the Fattoruso brothers also joins on drums. The latter half brings in keyboards for an OPA-like candombe fusion that transports you to another dimension. Savor the magical rhythms and the fairy-like sound world these two create. A masterpiece! (Original Japanese text by Saito)
