Born in London, his great-uncle was the 1920s cabaret star Leslie Hutchinson. Since Hutchinson hailed from Grenada in the French Caribbean, perhaps the Caribbean runs in his blood. Indeed, this has more the feel of nostalgic Latin/Caribbean vocal music than jazz. Unimpeachable gems: Suddenly (sample 1) and Cherry Blossom (sample 2). Great for all kinds of settings. A major masterpiece released in 2016 — coming back to it after some time away, it sounds even better... and it turns out there's a vinyl pressing! So we brought some in.
