Characterized by a futuristic and dystopian industrial sound, the music draws listeners into an epic world where heavy bass, dub, and noise intertwine. Nagoya-based Karnage has released its latest album, “Dystopian Synthesis,” on the label *Nocturnal Technology*, run by Mars89.

"Nocturnal Technology" is a DIY label run by Mars89, named after the concept of "nocturnal technology." The third release from Nocturnal Technology, catalog number NT003, is “Dystopian Synthesis,” an industrial dub album by Karnage, who began his career in Detroit and is now based in Nagoya. Built on a foundation of heavy bass rooted in his dubstep career, the album fuses destructive sounds influenced by noise and metal with dub techniques. Featuring Marshall Applewhite—who also boasts a long career in the Detroit underground—the album expresses a sound world that is both raw and profound. Mastered by sound system professional e-mura, the album delivers a tough, rugged sound from start to finish. The artwork and packaging design are by Ryu Goda, who skillfully captures the futuristic and dystopian worldview of this work visually. The release is available in two formats: digital and cassette tape. To balance the joy of physically owning the work with sustainability for the future, the cassette tapes are made from recycled plastic.
