A reissue project from 〈THANK YOU〉, a sublabel of Berlin maniac outfit 〈SOUND METAPHORS〉! New Beat was born in Belgium in the late '80s, sweeping the scene with its minor-key programmed dark tones and still being revived again and again today — and here's "Move & Dance To The New Beat" (sample1), a suspicious, heretical cut that shatters that slow-tempo code. The arrangement by Athens' famed maverick ANATOLIAN WEAPONS, which drags it back down to slow speed, is a real one-up, concept and all. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
