An acclaimed album released in October 2018, reconstructed and re-recorded by MAKAYA McCRAVEN himself for a documentary directed by Mark Pallman following the 2018 release of "Universal Beings." He's backed to the hilt by leading players carrying the new generation of US jazz: Brandee Younger on harp, Joel Ross on vibraphone, Dezron Douglas on double bass, Soweto Kinch on sax, Kamaal Williams on keys, Nubya Garcia on tenor sax and Ashley Henry on Rhodes. The birth of one of the Chicago new jazz scene's most essential works. Don't miss E5 (sample3), a true slice of "Beat Science" that moves from wild free drumming into a harp, vibraphone and dub bass ensemble before unfolding into intelligent hip-hop breaks. The harp and vibraphone, evoking the Mizell Brothers, work beautifully too. 14 tracks in all on LP. This is seriously cool. Very highly recommended. (Original Japanese text by COMPUMA)
