Featuring "Hiyamikachi Bushi," with the growling sanshin of Okinawan folk legend Seijin Noborikawa! Nicknamed "the Jimi Hendrix of Okinawa," Noborikawa delivers a powerful, definitive performance of one of the great Ryukyuan songs, "Hiyamikachi Bushi."

Seijin Noborikawa, a legend of Okinawan folk music known nationwide for his appearances in the films Nabbie's Love (1999) and Hotel Hibiscus (2002), as well as his 1999 collaborations with Soul Flower Union and Takashi Nakagawa. Building on traditional folk song while pursuing all manner of forward-looking experiments, he left a monumental mark on Okinawa's music scene. "Hiyamikachi Bushi," originally included on the acclaimed 1998 Off Note... er, Omagatoki release Howlin' Wolf, now gets its first-ever 7-inch cut. The B-side features "Harikuyamaku," a highlight folk song from Ayano Uema's 2012 major-label debut album Utasha, by the reigning diva of today's Okinawan folk scene.
