Discotecas, a re-edit label specializing in test pressings, releases its 009th release: a 4-track EP by Apiento & Lexx. It includes Paul Oakenfold’s remix of INXS’s “Suicide Blonde (Oakenfold Milk Mix)” and another early ’90s track by Paul Oakenfold, Cabaret Voltaire’s “Keep On (Land of Oz Mix).” This music captures an era when various elements of Balearic and British music—from Ibiza, London, and post-acid house to rock, dub, and African/world music—intertwined, marking the transition from progressive to trance.
