Originally released in 2014 as a project led by STEPHEN HITCHELL—though ROD MODELL was also deeply involved—this work has been carefully remastered from the original master tape by the master craftsman POLE at Berlin’s “scape mastering” and is now being reissued! A dub techno masterpiece, “fading lights” (sample 1), features a three-dimensional kick cutting through a hazy soundscape, with the bass gradually emerging. The B-side, “magenta” (sample 2), which masterfully balances a mysterious mood with hypnotic hooks, is also a standout.
