A compilation of tracks by legendary DJ YOSHINO—aka JOACHIM SCHÄFER—who played a central role in the UKG movement in Germany in the early 2000s. Featuring a selection of tracks from the “GUSH COLLECTIVE” catalog alongside previously unreleased vinyl material, all compiled onto a 12-inch record! With a unique, dreamlike aesthetic, sample work, and a raw yet warm sound—all hallmarks of the UKG scene—this is a legendary reissue that captures the very essence of YOSHINO.
Track List
The latest release from Berlin’s 〈PACE YOURSELF〉, the label behind reissues of works by JESSE RAE, a key figure in the P-FUNK movement! We’re reissuing a track by DJ YOSHINO, who—while one of the leading figures in Germany’s UKG scene alongside HERB-LF and LORENZO—enjoys cult status as one of the most enigmatic members of the GUSH COLLECTIVE. Featuring tracks like the mystical UKG track “Mind Music” (sample 1)—crafted with enigmatic French lyrics, female vocal samples, and crystalline synthscapes—this release blends a laid-back vibe with the smooth sound unique to German-produced UKG, all infused with YOSHINO’s distinctly dreamlike worldview.
