Basement Soul consists of Amar Patel, editor of the prestigious British music and culture magazine *Straight No Chaser*; turntablist DJ Greymatter; and Graham Luckhurst, also known for his work as an A&R at Mr. Bongo. They’ve created edits of “Chains” by American funk and soul singer Teena Marie (which was also remixed by John Morales), the free soul classic “Magic Lady” by Newban, and “Girl Watching” by T-Connection.
