Alongside HORACE ANDY’s “Dance Hall Style,” this is a reissue of WAYNE JARRETT’s masterpiece “Bubble Up” (UK release), one of WACKIE’S’ signature albums. This is a reissue of the 1982 album, which was released in the U.S. under the title “Showcase Vol. 1” with a different cover, but features exactly the same content! It’s packed with a string of classic tracks, including a cover of HORACE ANDY’s “Every Tongue Shall Tell” and the iconic “Brimstone & Fire.” It’s also a delight that it’s presented in the “Showcase Style,” featuring a DISCO MIX that transitions from the vocal take to the dub. The charm of Wayne Jarrett, the performances by Wackie’s Allstars, the synth work, and the mixing and dub magic of Bullwacie and Lloyd Barnes. The answer to why it’s “Wackie’s” lies right here.
