ROOTWAX, a DJ who has earned huge props from Osaka's hardcore hip-hop heads and keeps himself busy on the scene, drops a mix that's perfect for chilling out. The selection is spot-on—the tracklist alone will have anyone in the know grinning—unfolding smoothly from nu-soul to vocal hip-hop with gimmicks worked in along the way. Never pushing too hard or dropping too low, the pacing is exquisite, and with flashes of skill woven in throughout, it goes down easy and never gets old. This one looks set to be a long-term companion. *The audio sample is an excerpt from the first half.
