MEDLAR, aka NED PEGLER, who has an album on 〈WOLF MUSIC〉 and releases as KLIC on 〈KOLOUR〉, plus CARADOG JONES and UNLIKELY a.k.a TOM STIEDL, who put out a split single with SHACKLETON in 2007 on the London cult label 〈Clandestine Cultivations〉 (now seemingly dormant) — these three came together for the summer 2012 afternoon arpeggio session "53py9," and following that, NED & TOM took on a studio recording once more for the title track "Pilot"! A dark machine-romanticism electro oddity wearing its JOHN CARPENTER influence right on its sleeve! Here it's remixed by SCOTT FRASER, familiar from the [Emotional] series and MARK E-related works (sample2), while the aforementioned session track gets a rework from DMX CREW (sample3) — a fine record! The seductive, almost devastating power of the original session remains intact, treated by two seriously capable hands into wonderfully fresh remixes. Recommended!
