From Ireland's gateway label 〈ALL CITY DUBLIN〉, whose sublabel 〈JHERI TRACKS〉 — launched to lead post-lo-house leftfield dance music — is drawing rising expectations, comes a full album under the ANNO STAMM name, his first in about three years. Sides A through B line up what may be his greatest signature: baroque-styled analog machine house to hentai acid, running wild and stripped so bare it's almost comical. "No One Else" and "Charge It Up To My Account" hit especially nicely ◎. And then the recommended C~D sides: the theme track "Das ANNO STAMM Theme" (sample1), where his romanticism peeks through; "The Cities I Waltzed Through" (sample2), a dreamy 50WEAPONS-like bass techno with artificial, robotic whisper vocals dancing across it; and further, an eternal melody that overturns expectations — the quiet deep house of "Sensing Social Sirens" (sample3), reminiscent of PEPE BRADOCK, which seems destined to become a classic. Superb.
