VELOCETTE — aka Jason Williams — debuted on 〈REFLECTIVE〉, the label run by JONAH SHARP (aka SPACETIMECONTINUUM) that also released MOVE D and MIXMASTER MORRIS, and in '97 launched his own label PARALLEL RECORDINGS, putting out records alongside KIT KLAYTON and CHRIS SATTINGER. Now 〈A COLOURFUL STORM〉 compiles his material. Dope sounds from the '90s San Francisco / West Coast techno underground that still feel fresh today. He has spoken of being influenced by Klaus Schulze and Edgar Froese, and the appeal here lies in music born of experimentation during techno's DIY early days. (Original Japanese text by Saito)
