"〈DISKOTOPIA〉is extremely proud to officially kick off its 10th anniversary with an exciting new album from label co-founder BD1982, 'Distance Vision.'" BY DISKOTOPIA.

Softly flowing psychedelic mind pop. A new release from DISKOTOPIA's BD1982. The album is introduced as follows: "While deftly citing ideas found in oxidized pages and occult chapters, this work reflects images of real life. Fusing Jung with Jamaican dancehall, 'Distance Vision' merely scratches the surface of what we dream about, yet it sets the stage for it." We found these words very useful in picturing the appeal of this record. (Original Japanese text by Saito)

BD1982
BD1982 is a US-born Tokyo-based producer who co-runs the Diskotopia label with A Taut Line. His productions draw on a palette that spans decades of listening, adoration, and experimentation, drawing from dub, new-wave, industrial, and pop. After a handful of grimy dancehall-inspired records on Starkey’s Philly dubstep imprint Seclusiasis, he released the acclaimed VHS Nite EP on Diskotopia in 2011, following that up with the equally well-received Casings EP in 2013. Distance Vision is his 10th release on the label, coinciding with Diskotopia’s 10th anniversary year. In 2018, on the back of his mini-LP Decades Tempest, he was asked to contribute to the renowned FACT Mix series. His music has been remixed by the likes of Jam City, Ikonika, Optimum, and Murlo; played on BBC Radio1, Apple Beats1, NTS Radio, and Rinse FM; and championed by The Wire, Fact Magazine, Resident Advisor, and more.
