This is Malian music, or rather the best of African music. Kora player Barake Sissoko's new work from NO FORMAT in Paris. The music of the kora, a traditional instrument, is too wonderful.

One of the best of contemporary African music, his 2009 masterpiece "Chamber Music" with French string player Vincent Segal exemplifies the serene sound world of ambient and chamber music that will continue into the 2020s, as well as world music. (I wonder if it was the same way with Gonzales' "Solo Piano," a classic from the same era on the same label.)

At any rate, this sedative music can be enjoyed with a chill-out ear for dance music and a sense of the history of Malian music. A wonderful follow-up to Oumou Sangaré. Universal and eternal. This is on vinyl! (Original Japanese text by Shhhhh)
