A British '80s disco and disco-dub masterpiece. Written by IAN DURY, produced by CHAS JANKEL. KITTY GRANT, “Glad To Know You.”

A classic track that was once featured on IDJUT BOYS’ “Press Play” and Groove Armada’s “Last Night Tales,” and has long been beloved by fans of left-field and alternative disco. Composed by Ian Dury—a leading figure in British pub rock, known for his acting career and collaborations with Kiyoshiro Imawano—this hit song was released in 1981 under the name of Ian’s former bandmate, guitarist Chaz Jankel, who was exploring disco at the time. This version is the 1984 vocal version featuring Kitty Grant, produced by Chaz himself. The Ian and Chaz duo is also known for the “Disco Not Disco” masterpiece “Spasticus Autisticus” with Sly & Robbie and Steve Stanley, as well as their cover of “Ai No Corida” released under Chaz’s name. The uniqueness of this ’80s sound production, which blends disco and dub, is evident in the synths, machine beats, and the production style of Panama’s Compass Point. Combined with the charm of Kitty Grant’s vocals, this track still sounds fresh today! Reissued after 40 years. (Original Japanese text by Saito)
