Hailing from LA's Koreatown, The Koreatown Oddity is a producer, actor, writer and former stand-up comedian known by that stage name. This one is a concept album laced with comedy and mockumentary. A3 "MISOPHONIA LOVE" (sample 1) pairs ASMR vocals with new jack swing-style 808 drums (misophonia: a sensitivity to repetitive, soft sounds like breathing, chewing, or clicking), framing the act of crunching almonds and rubbing gym socks together as a fetish, and describing in detail a relationship with a partner triggered by specific sounds such as potato chips being chewed or a pen clicking. That's the lightest track here — the rest is an album packed with episodes you can't look away from, focused on Black deaths at the hands of police, Ktown's newborn daughter, personal moments like meeting the late Ras G shortly before his untimely passing, and the perception of reality, especially its hardest-to-believe moments and painful situations.
