C.M.Toni was the alias Marc Clair used between 1991 and 1993 while working for 〈Partners Inc.〉, a sublabel of 〈Reinforced〉. Unreleased material recorded under that project in 1993 now sees a reissue on 〈Omniverse〉, the label Clair himself runs!! On A2. Oh So Special (sample1), the underlying deep house groove betrays a clear US house influence, but the jazzy saxophone tone is strikingly luminous with a slightly druggy edge, making it truly unique. The euphoria of A1. Like It Hot (sample2), with its glittering synth melody ringing out, is equally stunning. The UK and US crossing paths in 1993. Highly recommended!!
