A rarity long sought by Afro-jazz fans that has never even surfaced on the used market is finally reissued! "Dedication" (1973), the debut album created by an assembly of renowned jazz players led by trumpeter SEGONA PETER THOLO, who also backed MANU DIBANGO. Rather than the electrified township style typified by DOLLAR BRAND, this is a sound rooted in the classics of the early '70s. "Rabothata" (sample1), with its emphasized piano vamp and hi-hat, carries a distinctly South African accent. Remastered from the master tapes obtained from the original label 〈GALLO〉, South Africa's largest and oldest independent! (Original Japanese text by Akie)
