Naturally, Afro house elements slip in as well, along with kuduro, samba, and nordestino (northeastern Brazilian) rhythms! No awkward chasing of trends, none of the superfluous fusion that so often plagues world music — just a focus on the origins of Lusophone/Angolan music and where it is "now." The groove and scenery stay consistent throughout the record, running from Afro-pop to house, a high-quality set that should get plenty of play in lounge and listening settings.
