The 12-inch version of this classic track by the ’80s NYC disco group CHIC, also known for being sampled in MODJO’s French house smash hit “Lady (Hear Me Tonight)” from around the year 2000. It’s thick, soulful music—all aged to perfection by A MONIR. Absolutely fantastic. The B-side features an instrumental version of “Why”—originally a classic of the Balearic scene and a staple of Paradise Garage—performed by CHIC with vocals by Carly Simon. Machine beats. That’s the charm of the ’80s sound.

"Soup for One," a single released in late 1982 by Chic—one of disco’s most successful groups, featuring guitarist Nile Rodgers (who also achieved success as a producer) and bassist and vocalist Bernard Edwards. Produced for the film *Soup for One*, other hits from the movie’s soundtrack—including Carly Simon’s “Why,” Sister Sledge’s “Let’s Go on Vacation,” and Teddy Pendergrass’s “Dream Girl”—were also produced by the duo. This release features the 12-inch version and the album version of “Soup For One,” originally released in 1982 on the *Mirage* label. It also includes an instrumental version of Carly Simon’s “Why”—a masterpiece produced by Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards. (It is not a complete instrumental; the chorus sections remain.)
