HIP HOP/G’HEAD

  • Cat No: LT132
  • updated:2023-11-13

Format

12inch 3350 JPY

A raw hip-house groove and a tribute to hip-hop history—titled “Hip Hop” and “g’Head,” with two versions each. It’s cool just to follow along with the wordplay and the rhythmic tricks. The B-side also features a unique atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Caserta—a project by Joseph Caserta, a producer from Boston, MA, who is also a sound engineer trusted by artists like BOSQ, JKriv, KON, and Czarface, and who releases music through his own label, *God Hour*—is dropping a 12-inch on Local Talk. Featuring “Hip Hop (Rap Mix),” “Hip Hop (Haus Dub),” “g’Head (LA Mix),” and “.g’Head (Boston Dub),” both sides are awesome, with dirty synths, dope sound production, and homages to Chicago house and hip-hop.
*Please note that the record has a slight warp—minimal enough not to affect playback—as observed upon arrival. We appreciate your understanding. (Original Japanese text by Saito)

When it comes to breathing new life into classic cuts Joseph Caserta is as good as it gets, proven many times on his imprint BridgeBoots.

Making punchy and jackin' house, sounding like it's been dipped in some secret sauce is another trick of his.

The first track on his Local Talk debut, Hip Hop, comes in two flavours with the special sauce added on top.
Both the Rap Mix and the Haus Dub got swinging drums and a meaty, stabby chord that keeps the energy tight.

On the flip, 'g'Head' is a punchy and bumpy house jacker that takes a hold of you and doesn't let go.
