Vocal humming and clarinet drifting through space, dreamy weightlessness — ambient meets Afro-diaspora. A curveball of an album to close out the year from PRÍNCIPE, the nerve center of Lisbon's ghetto sound! The debut work from sound designer XEXA. Hailing from São Tomé and Príncipe, XEXA brings a cross-cultural sound shaped by an extended stay in London as a student.

Moving from dancefloor immediacy into dreamy ambient territory, here's an ambitious drop even by PRÍNCIPE standards! The debut album from XEXA, a sound artist born on Príncipe island off the west coast of Africa who studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. A fourth-world work blending fantastical ambient laced with vocals and wind instruments with Afro-rooted batida! Imaginative, ethereal pop at its core, crisscrossed by rhythmic percussion — a new frontier for Príncipe. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
