Caribbean-Belgian composer and musician Nala Sinefro. Her controversial 2021 debut album, Space 1.8, was composed, produced, and performed by the then 22-year-old Nala, with the participation of saxophonist Nubia Garcia, James Morrison (Ezra Collective), and others at the forefront of the new generation of the UK jazz scene, Nala composed, produced, performed, engineered, recorded, and mixed the album.
The album's sound, filled with quiet madness and warm joy, has been praised by all the major music media and has been an exceptionally long-running hit here in Japan.
The new album "Endlessness," three years in the making, delves deeply into the concept of reincarnation, with ten elaborately crafted tracks of synthesized arpeggios that echo throughout the 45-minute album, celebrating the cycle and rebirth of life. It creates a grand and enchanting celebration of life's cycles and rebirth. Nala's transcendent and multidimensional compositional talents, which blend jazz, orchestral, and electronic music to great effect, are further developed in this work.
This album features Sheila Morris Gray of Cocoloco, Morgan Simpson of Black Midi, James Morrison of Ezra Collective, Lyle Burton, Nubaiya Garcia, Nasheet Wakili, Dwayne Kilvington, and a new generation of UK jazz musicians. The album features 21 string players from Orchestrate, a group of young musicians, as well as musicians from the UK jazz scene such as Lyle Burton, Nubaiya Garcia, Nasheet Wakili, and Dwayne Kilvington. Nala's skillful balancing of production, arrangement, and engineering allows these musicians to shine with minimal effects, seamlessly connecting direct, superficial beauty with the depth that exists behind it.
