Sapporo's electronic music hub RTU MUSIC launches a compilation project sparked by advice from O.N.O of THA BLUE HERB! Eighteen previously unreleased tracks compiled from artists currently based in Sapporo who are actively producing and performing. It opens with "folk tale," a crystal-clear electro-acoustic folk piece by p1 a.k.a 2g, followed by O.N.O's "F1504K," a broken-beat cut where ferocious drums and mysterious keys intertwine, and "Air Bladder," a tech house track in which RIKU SUGIMOTO—responsible for numerous hits on labels at home and abroad—digs deep into groove. A superb compilation distinguished by the wide-ranging approaches and earnest sound design that could only come from Sapporo, a musical soil unlike anywhere else in Japan.
