Voice and cello are reconstructed and collaged using glitch techniques, ranging from pastoral, gentle sound to abstract electronics. A superb cassette album from experimental cellist DOROTHY CARLOS, who studied classical cello at NYU and sound at SAIC, where she earned a doctorate. Also includes a 16-channel sound installation piece.

From the NY-based label 29 SPEEDWAY, home to J. ALBERT MEETS WILL AUGUST PARK, YOLABMI and more, spotlighting forward-thinking improvised music and live multimedia! Cellist DOROTHY CARLOS has explored a virtual-reality-like electroacoustic world using data augmentation and digital manipulation to fuse improvisation with computer music. Includes installation pieces that collage cello and electronic sound across 16 channels, as well as solo cello reconstructed via glitch techniques. A cassette that revels in the tension between the cello's warm, skin-like temperature and razor-sharp digital sound, and the surreality born from it. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
