This ambitious work, which also includes a memorial to Mark Stewart and Keith LeBlanc, is a concentration of Sherwood's musical life and emotions. An outstanding group of musicians has been assembled, led by Doug Wimbish. The album weaves together performances by Keith LeBlanc and compositions by Brian Eno to create a soundscape with a challenging and dope banda ensemble.
The title track of the album, A1 "The Collapse Of Everything" (sample1), is a superb dub masterpiece, a meditative spiritual jazz urban moody album that shows respect for the history of roots reggae and post-punk dub, and a sense of the future, and gives us a sense of the unrestrained enthusiasm for the new album. The Collapse Of Everything" (sample 1), the stoic deep riddim exploration dubwise free jazz A3 "The Well Is Poisoned Dub" (sample 2), which reminds me of early ON-U, and the trailer for the new album "The Well Is Poisoned Dub" (sample 3), a song that can also be called a trailer for the new album. The first one is B5 "The Grand Designer" (sample 3), a single that grooves elegantly and radically with ON-U manner and persuasiveness, intermingling ever-mutating rhythms and sonic dubwise strata. Macaroni Western, downer avant-gardism and experimentation, radical modern dubwise space urban acoustic aesthetics, and the spiritualism of the ON-U SOUND manner all come together to create a great masterpiece of an album. 10 tracks in total. Strong recommendation. I'm looking forward to their show in Japan too much.
