We've secured copies of "Remarks On Process," a documentary-style cassette work recorded in May 2024 at Vienna's Westbahn Studio! A week-long workshop between MARK FELL and STUDIO DAN—the session footage leading up to the final day, the rehearsals, the conversations—all comprehensively recorded and edited into a documentary tracing the path toward collective expression. By framing the process itself, it comes across like a director's cut of the improvised music and edited music (editing techniques) that MARK FELL has pursued so energetically over the past decade. There's the fascination of peeking in on how expression is completed through interpersonal exchange, and as pure sound it's superb too—improvised yet honed and converged into a minimal, experimental form. The most interesting thing of all about this cassette is that the actual performance carried out on the final night is NOT included; the way that fires up your imagination, attitude and all, really got us.
