Centered around Markus & Micha Acher and Cico Beck, this is the first album since 1995’s *12* to feature the entire live lineup recording together in the studio. Additionally, Enid Valu provides vocals, Haruka Yoshizawa plays the Taishōgoto and harmonium, Tianping Christoph Xiao plays the clarinet, and Mathias Götz plays the trombone as guest musicians. The band’s ensemble delivers a raw, warm sound that blends local and cosmopolitan vibes while retaining a sense of roughness. The title and several lyrics are sprinkled with imagery from B-movies and horror films. The album also includes two cover songs: a version of Neil Young’s “Red Sun” arranged for a stage production, and “How the Story Ends” by Lovers, a folk-pop band from Athens, Georgia. The album begins with gentle pop songs, but the standout tracks are the explosive, high-energy numbers like A2 “X-Ray” (sample 1).
