Modo Ritmo
G.A.M.M. - Cat No: GAMM202
- updated:2026-06-18
Melohman & Paco Colombas, who are active in Mediterranean destinations such as Ibiza and Mallorca, have released a 12-inch record on G.A.M.M.
They say they were inspired by the “joy and dancing” of Mallorca’s traditional festivals and by “Dimonis,” the mischievous devil who plays a key role in those celebrations. The A-side is a rework of Gilberto Gil, blending Afro-Brazilian batucada with Afro-Cuban and Caribbean sounds. The B-side features analog synths, Latin American Afro rhythms, and a rustic vibe that builds to a breathtaking climax. It also incorporates the bassline and piano phrases from Har-You Percussion Group’s “Welcome to the Party”—a massive Latin rare groove classic—that will leave you speechless. (Saito)

Track List
Producers Melohman and Paco Colombás announce their new EP, “Modo Ritmo” on GAMM, a vibrant sonic fusion where Mallorcan tradition meets Brazilian pulse. All together, the result is a highly percussive house workout with a South American feel.
The project centers on a unique dialogue between two worlds: the Mediterranean drone of the ximbomba and the tropical snap of the pandeiro. Inspired by the festive spirit of Mallorca’s "Devil"—a mischievous figure of joy and dance—the EP weaves together communal island roots with the duo’s deep-seated passion for Brazilian music.
Born from years of "crate-digging" and travels across Brazil, “Modo Ritmo” is more than a collaboration; it is a celebration of music as a universal language. It is a tribute to the dancefloor, where local heritage and global rhythms collide.
