Combining their signature re-edits and remixes with recordings featuring a live band, this album fuses 1970s-style rock with electronic rhythms, while also featuring collaborations with talented musicians such as Shawn Lee (Young Gun Silver Fox), Joe Harvey-Whyte (The Hanging Stars), Joe Stoddart (ABBA Voyage). It’s a star-studded project featuring artists such as Scott Hirsch, Pearl Charles, Will Worden, and Desert Oracle. The progression from “Slow Train Fuego” (sample_2)—which opens with the sound of crickets and unfolds steadily at 101 BPM—to the liberating finale of “Thunder Exchange” (sample_3) is absolutely fantastic. It’s also fun to listen to the entire album as a single, cohesive party experience. With its memorable synth and guitar phrases and tracks running over three minutes, it’s definitely a great choice for the dance floor. (Original Japanese text by AYAM)
