The first release from *Test Pressing Tracks*, a new project launched by Apiento, who curates Testpressing.org—a hub for underground dance music. A 12-inch record by the duo Apiento (Paul Byrne) & Co. (Alex Tepper). It features MC Kinky, the legendary MC known for his guest appearances on E-Zee Possee’s early UK acid house masterpiece “Everything Begins With An ‘E’,” as well as tracks by Erasure, Rebel MC, Boy George, and Towa Tei’s “Future Recall 2.” Apparently, the vocal version is available only on vinyl.

The laid-back sound is fantastic, offering a glimpse of the raw, progressive vibe from the dawn of acid house and UK rave, along with hints of Andrew Weatherall’s influence and playful elements of vocoders and slanting basslines. This marks a return to his roots for Apiento, who served as A&R for Guerilla Records and Junior Boy’s Own early in his career. The instrumental version and the B-side feature a track (sample 2) that blends laid-back, trance, and tribal steps into something indescribable yet undeniably cool—this one’s likely to become a masterpiece as well.
