Get Another Love / He Made You Mine
80s
- Cat No: ES120009
- updated:2026-06-08
This track blends disco-soul production with vintage drum machine beats that weave together Chicago house, jack, and post-electro swing. A re-edit of “Get Another Love” by Chantal Curtis, a French artist born in Tunisia in 1979. A deeply immersive, magical world. The B-side features Brighter Side Of Darkness’s “He Made You Mine,” a re-edit of a 1978 soul-disco track. This one also boasts a positive energy and killer breaks—a truly standout track. (Saito)
Track List
Fresh from flexing his scalpel skills via an impressive double 12-inch for Hot Biscuit Recordings, The Mighty Zaf once more joins forces with regular studio buddy Linkwood for two more tried-and-tested reworks. 'Get Another Love' is particularly potent, with the duo combining elements from a vintage disco-soul workout - glistening guitars, bass, vocals, strings - with a vintage-sounding drum machine beat which alternates between sweat-soaked Chicago-house jack and post-electro swing. 'He Made You Mine', meanwhile, is a straight edit of a slow, loved-up, immersive and horn-laden disco-soul gem that switches from loved-up downtempo loveliness to punchy dancefloor excellence midway through.

A new release from the '80s disco re-edit series, which began as a collaboration between The Mighty Zaf and the late Phil Asher and was carried on as a duo with Linkwood. "Get Another Love" by Chantal Curtis, a French artist born in Tunisia in 1979. It blends disco-soul production with vintage drum machine beats that weave together Chicago house, jack, and post-electro swing. Also included are re-edits of Side Of Darkness’ “He Made You Mine” and Brighter Side Of Darkness’ “He Made You Mine”—both soul and disco tracks from ’78. I’ve embedded the full-length YouTube videos below. Be sure to check them out. (Saito)
