Following the passing of her husband, Vojtěch, news has come of the death of his wife, Irena Havlovi. This soundtrack album was created by an experimental folk duo—a husband-and-wife team active in the Czechoslovakian underground scene since the 1980s—who were brought into the spotlight by the release of a compilation album on Jonny Nash’s label, *Melody As Truth*. It is the last recording the two completed together. We have it in stock.

An album released in 2022 featuring compositions created as soundtracks for two films by Czech contemporary filmmaker Václav Kadurnka: *Saving One Who Was Dead* and *Little Crusader*. The music is simple and reverent, featuring a minimal ensemble of instruments—including the viola da gamba, a bowed string instrument from the Baroque era; the organ; chant; the piano; and the harmonium—all carefully chosen to complement the stories. Rich emotions are conveyed through subtle changes in timbre and texture, and the music is imbued with a crystalline beauty shaped by the unique spiritual sensibility of the duo.
