This latest work sees Christian Wallumrød take the ideas and past repertoire he developed while composing music for solo and dance pieces and channel them back into the ensemble he has nurtured over many years, reconstructing them anew. Rather than presenting finished compositions, this delicate ensemble shares the space where sound is born; each performer handles acoustic and electronic elements in parallel, allowing the audience to hear the very process by which the boundaries between the two dissolve. As each musician’s acute individuality responds to the others, this collection of fluid, profound chamber music gems—born of a unique musical language that evokes the sounds of medieval polyphony and Norwegian traditional music while also exuding the tension of contemporary music—is a true masterpiece.
