The Mexican-made guitar that Garcia has played since childhood—a instrument passed down from his father and grandfather—takes center stage on this album. While you can sense the influence of Antonio Bribiesca and Luiz Bonfa, his playing never gets too technical; the sound has a shimmering, mirage-like quality, and the texture is enhanced by the hiss of a home recording. With a career path similar to Tommy Guerrero’s—shifting his focus from skateboarding to music—he exudes a uniquely relaxing vibe that’s truly refreshing. Definitely a great companion for the sweltering heat. (Original Japanese text by AYAM)
