Berlin-based musician and producer Paul Valentin—a long-standing creative force in the scene—has released his first solo EP in a decade via Feines Tier, the trusted home of slow-mo new disco, with contributions from artists such as DJ Koze, Liv Lisa Fries, Thomass Jackson, and Philipp Fein! ! A must-hear release featuring European-style wistfulness, dreamy, aesthetic melancholy, and melancholic electronica tech house.
Track List
A beautiful, sweet, and soulful electro-house remix with the signature cut-up, melancholic, dreamy style of the genius DJ KOZE: A2 “Paul Valentin / Liv Lisa Fries - Elvau (DJ Koze Remix)” (sample 2), A3 “Malfunction,” featuring refined synth arpeggios and a European-style melancholy Euro-Tech/emotional tech-house vibe; and B1 “WhatThe!,” an uplifting Euro-Tech track that feels like an emotional journey through an immersive electronica tunnel—all of which are floor-friendly. And then there’s B2 “Listen,” which drifts in a mysteriously trippy, floaty manner—guided by an acid-tinged TB303-style bassline—while grooving through an electronic ambient dreamscape, and a TB-303-style acid bassline—B2 “Listen” (sample 3) is also incredibly intriguing, drifting in a mysteriously trippy, floaty manner while grooving through dreamy electro-ambient sounds. A masterpiece EP has been born, as one would expect from Feines Tier, the renowned label of organic slow-motion disco. (Original Japanese text by COMPUMA)
