Just looking at the lineup of remixers featured on QUAKS’s releases at the time—including Gonzales, Schneider TM, Jamie Hodge (Conjoint), Pole, and Superpitcher—gives a glimpse into their unique approach. This Y2K electro-pop band released music on Gudrun Gut’s Monika Enterprise label. It features a masterpiece mix by Sascha Funke—known for his minimal, analog synthesizer sounds from his days releasing on KOMPAKT and BPitch Control—along with the original nostalgic slow synth-pop track and a remix by Swayzak, the electronic house prodigy who, though based in the UK, was well-regarded in the German scene. Although the original master appears to have been lost, it has reportedly been carefully remastered from the original vinyl at the renowned Berlin studio Dubplates & Mastering.
