A stock of one-off tracks released by KEN DUTRIEUE—who has been active in the synth music scene under names like DILEMMA and BIJOU, as well as with projects such as *BORDELLO A PARIGI*—has been discovered under the name KENNYBOY! The original was released in 2005. It’s a cover of “West End Girls,” one of the Pet Shop Boys’ signature tracks, which blends social themes with sophisticated electro sounds. Using analog equipment to shape triggers, amplify the clock signal, and synchronize patterns, the vocals were re-performed through a vocoder and recorded in a single take to create the Italo-boogie arrangement “Eastendboy” (sample 1).
