The Art Of Rolling EP
Obscurity Is Infinite - Cat No: OII002
- updated:2026-08-05
A hard-groove track with a pulsating rhythm—the cowbell accents stand out against the meaty techno vibe in a way that’s downright sneaky! ASSAILANTS, the legendary collaboration between BEN SIMS and TRUNCATE, made us think it was a one-off project, but they’ve made a comeback after eight years with a killer cover art. With a robust 4/4 beat and the vocals from PRAXIS ft. KATHY BROWN’s “Turn Me Out” laid down heavy, this is a masterful blend of the true essence of hard groove and tough machine funk.
Track List

Legends BEN SIMS and TRUNCATE make a surprise comeback as ASSAILANTS for the first time since 2018! The release kicks off with “The Roller,” a hard-groove track featuring crisp hi-hats and perfectly balanced cowbells. It samples the vocals from “Turn Me Out,” a classic track representative of ’90s New York house, and “Fracture 2” (sample 2)—which swings with a stripped-down, heavy bassline—the album masterfully navigates the boundary between a stoic, dance-focused mode and one where you can simply surrender to the euphoria. The cover art is absolutely amazing. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
