Solo, duo, orchestra. A breathtakingly spectacular recording of reverberation experiments capturing acoustic phenomena through these three performance formats.

Early summer 2025. Uchikura Dam, surrounded by the mountains of Shibata City, Niigata. In the vast reverberation space extending deep beneath the dam’s embankment, a collective sound experiment was carried out under the direction of Yoshihide Otomo—a rare musician who continually transcends the boundaries of diverse musical worlds—and Ami Yamazaki, a vocal artist and visual artist who goes beyond the concept of vocalization to expand the possibilities of physical expression. This work consists of solos in which Otomo and Yamazaki each attempted a dialogue with the space; a duet in which their voices and guitars created a chain of responses; and the *Uchinokura Dam Orchestra*, in which 45 participants recruited from the general public transformed beyond their individual wills into a single, massive living organism. Voices, breath, bodies, water, musical instruments, sound devices, and every conceivable sound are influenced by the unique properties of that space from the moment they are emitted, evolving into a magnificent swell of sound through a series of unpredictable reactions. An unprecedented experimental documentary recording the processes of generation, interference, amplification, and transformation of acoustic phenomena within a single space.
