This is the 2005 album by FLANGER, a collaborative unit of musical mavericks that has been active since their debut EP on NTONE in 1999. Counting the album “Templates”—which includes the EP—this is their fourth release. While this unit gradually shifted from dub and electronic sounds toward a stronger jazz influence, this album is their most swinging release yet, recorded with both members playing instruments as acoustic musicians and featuring RIFF PIKE III on vocals. It features a wonderful sound that blends acoustic elements with exquisitely experimental electronics, showcasing meticulous attention to detail in the soundscape. I definitely think you should have this in your collection. I’ve added it to my stash. (Original Japanese text by Saito)
