aka NIMROD — Canadian-born, Osaka-based improviser TIM OLIVE. Following SUPERNATURAL HOT RUG AND NOT USED with Bunsho Nishikawa, this is his solo album for EM RECORDS. He pursues the sonic possibilities of magnetic pickups from modified guitars/basses run through analog preamps. You'll be amazed when you hear the sound samples, but apparently no effects pedals were used at all. And of course NO PC. Only two tracks feature overdubs. There are no track titles that might conjure up any particular imagery either. I listened all the way through, and it's purely enjoyable as sonic performance. This one's a good one.
