Following the release by 1977 (aka DJ MASTA), whose stoic yet quietly graceful ambient modern tracks drew plenty of attention, 〈FOR THOSE WHO KNOW〉 has now hooked up with another mysterious producer, MALVITO! The title track "Vertigo" (sample1) is, according to the info sheet, said to share an affinity with the German 〈WORKSHOP〉 camp... but if anything it sits perfectly alongside the machine-soul deep house of JUS-ED at 〈U.Q.〉 or Chicago's HAKIM MURPHY! Coupled with "Caz Calhu" (sample2), a psychedelic, off-kilter beatdown cut built on heavy bass, semi-industrial high-end amplified dub and an uplifting two-chord progression!
